Tropical ICHTIO Freshwater White Spot Treatment

ICHTIO is a treatment for freshwater aquariums designed to help combat white spot disease (Ich) caused by the protozoan Ichthyophthirius multifiliis. It is intended for use when fish show symptoms of this common parasitic infection, helping to eliminate the parasite while supporting successful treatment.

Whenever possible, treatment is recommended in a separate quarantine aquarium, making it easier to observe the fish throughout the treatment period and reducing the impact on the main display aquarium.

For best results, maintain the treatment water temperature between 27°C and 30°C, as the elevated temperature supports the parasite’s life cycle and improves treatment effectiveness.

Dosage

Long-term treatment in the aquarium (7–14 days):

1. Add 10 ml per 100 litres of aquarium water.
2. After 3 days, perform a 20% water change.
3. Add 5 ml per 100 litres of fresh aquarium water.
4. Repeat this procedure twice.
5. Maintain the water temperature between 27°C and 30°C throughout the treatment.

Following the full treatment schedule should help eliminate Ichthyophthirius multifiliis.
