Seachem Flourish Nitrogen 250ml – Concentrated Nitrogen Supplement for Aquarium Plants

Seachem Flourish Nitrogen is a concentrated nitrogen supplement formulated for freshwater planted aquariums where plants require additional nitrogen for healthy growth. It supplies nitrogen in two readily available forms: nitrate (NO₃⁻) and bound ammonium (NH₄⁺), allowing efficient nutrient uptake by a wide range of aquatic plants.

Unlike products containing free ammonia, Flourish Nitrogen releases no free ammonia into the aquarium water. The ammonium remains in a bound form and is only released inside plant cells, providing a safe and efficient nitrogen source.

The formula contains no phosphorus, making it ideal for aquarists who wish to increase nitrogen levels independently while maintaining precise control over nutrient balance.

Dosage

Beginner dosing

• Add 2.5 ml (half a cap) per 160 litres of aquarium water twice per week, or as needed when symptoms of nitrogen deficiency appear.
• This dose increases nitrogen by the equivalent of approximately 1 mg/L nitrate.

Advanced dosing

• For faster plant growth, higher doses may be used while maintaining the correct nutrient balance.
• Seachem dosing formula:
  • 0.06 × aquarium volume (L) × desired nitrogen increase = required ml of Flourish Nitrogen

Note: Since approximately half of the nitrogen is supplied as nitrate, the nitrate test reading can be multiplied by two to estimate the total nitrogen supplied.
