Seachem Flourish Iron 250ml – Concentrated Iron Supplement for Aquarium Plants

Seachem Flourish Iron is a highly concentrated iron supplement formulated for freshwater planted aquariums where plants require additional iron beyond the amount supplied by a standard fertiliser. Containing 10,000 mg/L of ferrous iron (Fe²⁺) in the form of ferrous gluconate, it provides iron in a highly bioavailable form that is readily absorbed by aquatic plants.

Iron is essential for chlorophyll production and healthy plant growth. A deficiency often appears as yellowing (chlorosis) between the veins of young leaves, along with shortened or elongated shoots. Regular supplementation helps restore healthy green foliage and supports vigorous plant development.

Unlike many iron supplements that use ferric iron (Fe³⁺) with EDTA, Flourish Iron provides ferrous iron (Fe²⁺), which plants can absorb more easily without expending additional energy to convert it into a usable form.

The formula contains no phosphates or nitrates, allowing precise iron supplementation without affecting macronutrient levels.

Dosage

• Add 5 ml per 200 litres of aquarium water to maintain an iron concentration of 0.1 mg/L.
• The measuring cap includes 1 ml graduations for accurate dosing.
• Dose when signs of iron deficiency appear, such as:
  • Yellowing (chlorosis) between leaf veins
  • Shortened shoots
  • Excessively elongated shoots
