The Aqua Nova NSF-R100L Sponge Filter is a compact air-driven aquarium filter designed for freshwater, marine, shrimp, breeding, and community aquariums up to 100 litres. It provides effective mechanical and biological filtration while creating a gentle water flow that is safe for shrimp, fry, and other delicate aquarium inhabitants.

Powered by an external air pump (not included), the NSF-R100L removes uneaten food, plant debris, and suspended waste particles from the water. Its high-quality porous sponge also provides a large surface area for beneficial nitrifying bacteria, which naturally break down harmful ammonia and nitrites, helping maintain healthy, stable water conditions.

The NSF-R100L is particularly popular among breeders due to its gentle filtration, making it ideal for shrimp tanks, breeding aquariums, spawning tanks, fry grow-out systems, quarantine tanks, hatcheries, and nano to medium-sized community aquariums.

The dense sponge also supports the growth of microorganisms that serve as a valuable natural food source for shrimp and newly hatched fry.

Installation is quick and easy. Simply connect the filter to a standard 4/6 mm airline and an external air pump (sold separately). For additional safety, it is recommended to install an airline check valve (not included) to prevent water from siphoning back into the air pump during power outages.
